KOODESIGN is an award-winning product design and brand communication consultancy based in Hong Kong. Founded by Larry Koo and Natalie Chan, KOODESIGN combines industrial design, a keen sense of aesthetics and technological expertise to create products for global clients, including Philips, Universal Electronics, Nixplay, Easton Cycling, Bell Sports, Mattel and others.
Our areas of expertise include consumer electronics, IOT accessories, audio speakers and sporting good products. We have won multiple design awards, including the IF Design Award, Reddot design award, GOOD design award and many more. We are also mindful of the role of design in creating a better, smarter future, with an emphasis on sustainable production and materials, and using intelligent design to create products that have a positive impact on the world.
Larry is an industrial designer with over 20 years of experience in design management, industrial design and professional lecturing. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Larry has always had a passion for creativity and fine art. He graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA degree and began his career working for Radica Games in Dallas, Texas – a division of Mattel. Prior to establishing KOODESIGN, Larry worked for Gibson Innovations as part of Philips global brand licensing headquartered in Hong Kong. After a few years designing home cinema speakers and speakers products, in 2015 he became the design lead for their Home Communications and Smart Home projects, where he designed IOT home automation devices. Larry also holds a part-time teaching position at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Natalie is a co-founder of KOODESIGN with a focus on business development, project management and business strategy. With over 10 years of merchandising and product sourcing experience, Natalie has worked for a number of leading US sporting goods brands. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Natalie earned her Master’s of Science in Marketing Strategy from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2010, and completed her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from University of Hong Kong in 2003.
King is an experienced and accomplished designer with a great passion for products with high levels of quality and sophistication. Before joining KOODESIGN three years ago, King spent 15 years working in the design industry providing creative direction and leading design teams. He has worked with Phillips and KEF design among others, and has been involved in a wide range of projects for various markets from consumer products to toys. Several of his designs have earned awards including Red Dot, IF and Good Design awards.
Founder of Concepto Studios, Miami USA. Andrew is an industrial designer with 20+ years of experience in product development and has a passion for using design thinking to tackle social challenges. With a background in product creation and designing in-home appliances, he has managed and created products for brands of all sizes across multiple industries, including Black & Decker and George Foreman brands. As a former classmate of KOODESIGN founder Larry Koo, Andrew shares similar design processes and principles, and their strategic alliance aims to mutually extend East and West exposure and enhance global reach across design and manufacturing.
As VP of operations and global product development manager at Concepto Studios, Iber works on business development and project and manufacturing management. He also handles communications and relations with clientele, and serves as a liaison with partners in Asia to oversee manufacturing and production processes.
Kelvin is a dedicated and passionate mechanical engineer with over 20 years of experience. Throughout the course of his career he has worked in a variety of different fields – everything from game accessories to architectural lighting, digital cameras, radio controlled toys, safety buckles and more. Kelvin operates out of the UK where he supports KOODESIGN remotely, extending the collective presence into Great Britain
Hans is a talented designer with lifelong passion for visual arts and creativity. For KOODESIGN, he works on concept sketching, concept development and visualization, as well as a growing role in the product design and product development processes. Born in the Chinese coastal city of Shantou, Hans was educated at Hong Kong Polytechnic University as an industrial designer.
Mark values problem-solving through the fusion of engineering and design. He has experience designing medical wearables, test rigs and consumer products. His design work has been published in multiple international publications and appeared in multiple global conferences. His education included a BoS in Integrative Systems and Design at the HK University of Science and Technology while also studying product design at the Hong Kong Design Institute.
