How can design highlight the power of sound? KOODESIGN created a sound concept prototype for the “Dolby Trumpet”, an innovative acoustic platform introduced by Dolby Audio to EASTECH (Eastech Holding Limited, Co.), a global leader in the engineering, design and manufacturing of acoustic modules, transducers, audio systems and wearables.
The showcase design demos a 360-degree home speaker with voice recognition in a mono block form factor. With a focus on high quality, immersive room sound, a key feature is the lack of interference with voice recognition functionality – a typical a shortcoming when balancing the use of a microphone for voice interaction.
An important part of design is telling a story that helps you understand what the product is all about. The form factor of the Dolby Trumpt features a unique triangle shape with soft corners, which holds the intention of complementing the smooth sound concept. The slant of the interface allows you to see the Alexa indicator lights from across the room, an intuitive solution to make features more visible from distance.
Meanwhile the custom grill bend represents sound wave forms emanating from a source. It all comes together to create a seamless narrative that tells a story of sound.
